To keep our playgroup fees low we hire out the cottage outside of playgroup times. These hires include regular weekly groups, bands, Bible groups and also singular hires for birthday parties, meetings etc.
These hires have access to the following:
- Toyroom with toys and large chalk board
- Indoor climbing castle
- Indoor cubby-house
- Craft area with tables and chairs
- Parent lounge area
- Adult and children bathrooms
- Kitchen with microwave, oven, fridge, tea cups and cutlery
- Outdoor area with playgym, seating and sandpit
- Ample free parking
Theiss Cottage is situated a reasonable distance from other dwellings and is therefore perfect for noisy children's parties or band practice. For more information about booking the cottage for your next event, visit the calendar section of the website to check availability and then complete the venue hire form to make a booking. The hiring officer will contact you to confirm your booking and to organise for you to collect the keys.
All applications to hire the cottage must be made by persons over the age of 30, and proof of age will be required. If persons under the age of 30 years wish to hire the Cottage they must be accompanied by a person over the age of 30 who shall then be responsible for the Cottage for the entire time of the function. We ask a $40 cash or cheque key deposit for daytime hire (finished by 5pm) and a $200 cash or cheque key deposit for night time hire (5pm to midnight). Your key deposit is refunded once you return the key and the cottage is deemed to be left in the condition you found it.
With regard to venue hire, please note:
- The fee and key deposit shall be paid in full, in person, at the agreed amount.
- The Cottage must be left in a neat and tidy condition, inside and out, after use i.e. benches wiped down, toilets cleaned, carpets vacuumed, vinyl floors mopped.
- You need to take all rubbish with you. There are outside bins near the sports oval.
- All equipment and furniture must be returned to the correct position.
- A vacuum cleaner and mop is located in the storage cupboard near the toilet. Detergents are to be supplied by the hirer.
- The Hirer shall take all reasonable care with respect to the premises. Any damage caused by the Hirer, or their guests, shall be the responsibility of the Hirer. In the event of any damage occurring, repairs shall be arranged by the KPA, and costs shall be covered by the Hirer.
- No alcohol or smoking is allowed on the premises.
- The Hirer indemnifies Kambah Playgroups Association Inc. against any claim made by the Hirer or any persons visiting the premises during the Hirer's use of the premises with respect to personal injury or property loss or damage.
- The Hirer shall ensure that all windows and curtains are closed, lights, heating and cooling switched off, and that the back door, front door and screen doors are locked upon departure.
- Please notify the hiring officer if you wish to cancel a booking.
